Worship
Our Sunday Worship service, at 10:30 a.m., is the central gathering time and expression of our life together as a church. We come together to give thanks, to share our joys and concerns, to seek guidance, and to let go of our burdens. We call our Worship service a classical Congregational service in that it is in the norm of most Congregational churches in the mainline tradition of Reformed Protestantism.
Our worship service is based on the observance of the liturgical year and general use of the Revised Common Lectionary. We draw from sources such as the Presbyterian Book of Common Worship and The Worship Sourcebook of the Reformed Institute of Worship.
Our service is usually an hour. We observe Holy Communion or The Lord's Supper once a month, normally on the first Sunday, and extend an open communion to all. Our minister normally preaches at all Worship services. We are blest to have guest preachers on occasion, pulpit exchanges, as well as special reflections from within our congregation on special occasions, such as Father's Day or Mother's Day. We also welcome our members and friends to share their musical gifts with us.
